Arts Empower Mega Conference

Arts specialists, arts teachers, general classroom teachers, school administrators, college students, university faculty, teaching artists, arts partners, and parents come together to participate in professional development sessions, networking, and a celebration of arts education in our schools. VAPA Teacher Community of Practice

This Community of Practice has been designed for VAPA Teachers at all levels of experience with a shared commitment, passion and desire to improve their teaching practice through regular interaction with one another. Topics will include creating standards-based curriculum and assessments, maintaining a work/life balance, and planning successful student productions. Participants will share successes, work through challenges together, and build relationships while creating a shared repertoire of resources to use in the classroom. Cost: $100  FLIER

Diving Deeper NCAS

During this three-day learning opportunity, visual and performing arts teachers will examine the new National Core Arts Standards in their discipline and will begin to align their coursework to the standards. Teachers will have the opportunity to create new instructional units, write performance assessment tasks, and align course descriptions using the National Core Arts Standards, Common Core State Standards, and the California English Language Development Standards. Cost: $175 FLIER
